Writtng Christian Songs for Money

12 of the most popular current Christian song writer embark on this project to come out with an album CompassionArt. Their vision and mission is for every amount made from this album, being the sales of the album or the songs royalties, will be going to one of their nominated charities. No one take a cent, not the songwriters, not the singers, not the producer, publishers, managers or even the recording studio, which in this case, turns out to be the Abbey road studio (think 'Beatles'). 'This will be the only time that we are writing worship songs for money' Darlene was quoted saying in the album teaser. It's an amazing vision and project.

These 12 songwriters; Martin Smith (the brainchild of the project), Israel Houghton, Darlene Zschech, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W Smith, Graham Kendrik, Tim Hughes, Paul Baloches, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin & Stu G and Andy Park came out with 22 songs within a week of retreat in Scotland all for the cause of charities. 15 songs made up the albums that include other singers like Cece Winans, Kirk Franklin and Tobymac among others. Matt Redman put it simply by saying that "Some songs touches the heart, some touches the ears, but these songs will touch lifes".

Israel Houghton sums it all up perfectly... "It's impossible to call ourselves worshippers and not be moved in the area of Justice".

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. "
