Word became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word (John 1:1)... The word became flesh (John 1:14). We always say that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God. God didn't just stay as God, He came to be like us so that He could serve us. O, hang on, did I just say that God came to serve us? That's a bit out of line, some of you may say but that's exactly what Jesus came to do, to serve humanity, to model to the 'Christian' on what serving is about.

Heard on the radio that in today Christian community, it's sad to say that we have turn the 'flesh' back to 'word'. In other words, we Christian have just been preaching but never really live out of deeds. Sometimes we forget that love is an action as demonstrated by Christ. I think the world has sometimes hear enough of us, they want to see more of us.

When Jesus commanded His disciples (as in all of us Christians) to 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,...' (Matt 28:19), He didn't just mean to physically go to all the different nations. I believe the nations also meant 'comfort zone'. Jesus didn't just ask us to be preaching in areas or to people that we are comfortable with, but also to act out His love to even areas that are out of our comfort zone...

Let the Word become Flesh... even to our uncomfortable territory.
